The City of Greenbrier is proud to announce that Meredith Post has officially joined the Greenbrier City Council. Appointed by Mayor Sammy Hartwick, Post was sworn in during the June City Council meeting.
Meredith Post brings a strong sense of community pride, professionalism, and a fresh perspective to the council. As a longtime resident of Greenbrier, she has been actively involved in civic and volunteer efforts across the city and is known for her dedication to serving others.
Post was honored as “Citizen of the Year” in 2024 and also owns Glow Aesthetics in Greenbrier. Her appointment fills the vacancy left by former Councilman Ty Kelso, who retired earlier last month after more than two decades of service.
Mayor Hartwick expressed his confidence in the new appointee, saying, “Meredith is a passionate and thoughtful leader who truly represents the spirit of Greenbrier. I look forward to working with her as we continue building a stronger future for our city.”
Post said she is honored to take on the role. “It’s a privilege to serve the people of Greenbrier, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a voice for our citizens,” she shared. She is excited to get to work and contribute to the continued growth and success of the community. She adds, "I felt like it was important to have a woman on the council again. In my career it’s very important that I make make people feel seen and valued and I will carry those same values out during my appointment with the city. I give all my heart to everything I do, and I will keep that spirit with me through my time in service.”
The City Council and staff welcome Councilwoman Post and look forward to her leadership and insight as Greenbrier moves forward.
